Essence of Design, LLC is a full-service interior design firm dedicated to creating timeless interiors.  We specialize in luxury homes, vacation homes, executive offices, pre-construction and architectural detailing; offering in-home interior design services in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. as well as e-Design services anywhere in the US.

Shiva Rostami is the principal designer and founder of Essence of Design, llc. She has been in the design business for more than 30 years and has worked for numerous high-profile firms in Maryland and Virginia.

Shiva has traveled extensively throughout the globe and feels her lifelong exposure to cultures and sensibilities has shaped her keen sense of different styles and an eye for color.  She designs interiors that are sophisticated and elegant and always detailed with utmost precision so its different elements are all well connected.
